Being useful. These words have popped into my head SO much lately.
Definition of USEFUL
1
: capable of being put to use; especially : serviceable for an end or purpose <useful tools>
2
<<<: of a valuable or productive kind <do something useful with your life>>>

I don't want to pass through this life just living. I want to make a difference. I want to bring others to Christ. I want to change the world.
There are so many things I want to do in a lifetime. Some things that wouldn't have much effect on the world. Such as getting married; having children; living in the East, owning a horse, etc. Just simple wishes that are mere wants.
But there is SO much that I want to do, that would change the nation forever.
Stop abortion.
I know, this isn't a very realistic thing to want to do. But abortion is wrong! Since when has the killing of children been right?! And everyday, more than 3,300 babies are killed. Each day! Just in America.
12 weeks along. Does this look like just a blog of cells? At 12 weeks, the entire Central Nervous System is formed.
Bring people to Christ.
As a Christian, this is what we are charged to do, anyway. But do we actually DO it? Do we become comfortable in our little 'circle', reading the bible, praying, being a 'good Christian'? We are called to preach the gospel. To all people. In EVERY nation. And the sad thing? The USA is so hypocritical. People from other countries send Missionaries to the USA, to bring people to Christ, when we should be doing that very thing. In our own country. {I don't mean to criticize; I meant this at myself more than anyone else.}
Jim Elliot; The missionary who died in Ecuador sharing Christ with others. Bringing people to Christ. Giving his life for Christ.
Feeding starving children.
Starving children. In other countries. In our own country. Maybe even in our state. Or town! There is so much need in our worlds. It shames me to think of the selfishness of my own nature.
We say we need things; that new game. That pair of shoes; do we think of others?
Even for a passing moment? A thought flitting through like a bird. I don't.
When others who really need things, don't know what they are missing; so they don't think they need anything! Or they are content with what they have, regardless.
I will not live this life pleasing myself.
I will fall. I know.
I will make mistakes. I know.
But through God's grace, I want to make this world a better place. A world that is pleasing and honoring God. A Country that will be a light in a dark world. Shining Christ's light.
I am only a drop of water in an ocean. This life is uncertain. You may think; what can one person do?
Not much. But through Christ, anything is possible.
I can do all this through HIM who gives me strength.
-Philippians 4:13 NIV
So.
What do ya say?
Shall we change the world?

Very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful, inspiring post. Let's go change the world!!!
What a wonderful post this was to read~ all I can say is, that's exactly how I feel!!! I want to make a difference, and it is few and far between these days that you come across such like minded young women. Thank you so much for your encouragement! There is nothing more fulfilling in life than to live the way God created us to live; to help the poor and widows, spread the gospel and build up his Kingdom. Aside form this, all is vanity. :D
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!

Postscript= I really love your music~ soothing and beautiful! :)
Great post, Mikailah! Many people say that just because we are young that we cannot change the world. We can prove them wrong. Just because we are younger does not mean that Gods has somthing special in store for us. :)
