everyday simplicity~

 {looking through binoculars with my camera}

This spring has been filled with many beautiful and memorable occasions. That is one reason I love photography; the chance--the ability-- to capture memories that would be only thoughts; distant shadows in ones mind. To catch those simple moments; a baby laughing, a sister reading a book. How precious those simple things become in the future years. The chance to look back and remember what use to be; and dream about the future. But those past years aren't the good old days. We are living in the good old days. And those days-- those treasure-- will be gone before we know it. Like a breath of wind. We appreciate it, and even welcome it, but once it is gone, we forget that it ever was.

These simple things; these simple pleasures are what makes any season special. Sitting by a stream. Playing fetch with the dog. Reading a book. Music playing by firelight. Laughter. These are the things that brighten my spring days. Don't take advantage of it. Enjoy the blessings God has given us. [And how good He is!] Make those memories. Laugh. Appreciate the simplicity of everyday.

xo,
Mikailah~

  4. Lovely pictures! You can really write well. :)

    On your [blog's] name change, I think I'd pick whatever you think suits you and what you write about best. :) I almost changed my blog name to Aspiration (or at least it was on my list), and then I decided not to because I was reminded that it sounded a little too much like Aspire.

  10. I just found your blog and am very impressed. I was excited because my sis and her family live in Tucson, AZ. Our family is in TN and my sister's family will be coming back to our farm in a couple of weeks. She misses our family farm greatly but is following her dear, dear husband. Depending on how close she and you are, they would LOVE to visit. They look for ANY opportunity to visit farms in AZ to help her children remember our farm back home. Looking forward to reading more about you and your family. You can check out my blog at farmfaithfamily.blogspot.com and my girls' blog at threemaidens.blogspot.com. I think you will enjoy both. I have several posts on hauling hay recently, our latest farm work. It is so good to hear other young ladies stories and know they are living out God's glorious plans for their lives. I encourage you, Mikailah, to stay strong and live for Him.
    Always Experiencing Him,

  11. I know you are looking at changing your blog name but personally I like "maid for him." Maybe It's because my girls have maiden in their name. Whatever you choose, it will be good. We love the country as well, living on a farm ourselves. Good luck!
