what makes life beautiful, v.1

It is a beautiful life that we live--sometimes we realize it and sometimes we don't. Sometimes we "take time to smell the roses" and sit under a tree and read a book, or play an instrument. But sometimes we get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that we forget--that it is a beautiful life we live. For me, what makes this life beautiful isn't the lights and splendor of the big city, or the rushing to and fro to reach a certain location in time. For me, what makes life lovely, meaningful, beautiful is the simple things. So, I am starting a new blog series. What makes life beautiful. Just tid-bits and pictures of lovely things that... well, make life beautiful.

SLIVERS OF SUNLIGHT ON THE FLOOR IN THE MORNING || MINT TEA IN A JAR || THE BRIGHT PINK OF THE "PURPLE" CONE-FLOWERS || HAIR LOOSE IN THE WIND || DROPLETS OF LIQUID LIGHT ON GRASS || BOKEH IN THE TREES || NEW CAMERAS (oh, yes. more on that coming.) || RAIN SOUNDS ON THE ROOF AT NIGHT ||

What makes your life beautiful?

xo,
Mikailah

ps--new blog name coming soon, and GUYS, I GOT MY CAMERA. now all pictures will be taken with my smashing Nikon D3100, affectionately named "Nixie". (Nixie the Nikon... yeah.)

  1. Wow- yes! Not only is it incredibly easy to get caught up in the "big city lights" but being so so so focused on BECOMING inspired that it kills all inspiration. You're right- searching for the small, teeny moments that make life actually life is what's going to effect our character and mood for the day. It helps too, to remember that doing small things for other people help them as well as us.

Love this post- can't wait to see more of the series!

  6. You have such an eye for photography. I can hardly wait to see more of your lovely pictures. And you are wise to not let the glitter distract you from true beauty...Not to say that the glitter doesn't have it's moments to be enjoyed!
