a small collection of thanks

So many things to be thankful for. This past year has been filled with many blessings, many hardships, many learning experiences. Times of tears, and asking God "why?", and times of joy when we {at least me} laugh so hard my stomach hurts the next day, almost like from doing sit-ups {almost, not quite.} We all have so much to be thankful for. Sometimes I think we don't fully grasp the concept of thankfulness.

We are thankful for the food we eat, the clothes on our backs, the house over our head, of course. But think how thankful we would truly be for a meal that wasn't expected. If we weren't sure when the next plate of food would be set before us, we would truly be thankful for everything we now take for granted. I am thankful. For life, for love, for everything we have that {ironically} makes our everyday lives beautiful. In simple sentences, a few things I'm thankful for, from a to z.

a good heart-to-heart chat with  sweet friends. couldn't do without them.
being free to worship and praise as we see fit
crafting days where we design cards and get inky fingers and glittery faces.
drinking cup after cup of tea, coffee and cocoa.
everyday life. because that in itself is a blessing.
family + friends. need i say more?
getting packages in the mail + gingerbread perfume. {it's the best.}
handwritten letters from friends clear across the Country.
ice cream parties with family, friends... + molasses.
Jesus Christ. so thankful for Him.
kind words and friendly smiles from friends and strangers alike.
love.
merry laughter ringing through the house at a joke, or funny expression
nature's beauty and serenity.
openness and honesty, oranges, and the font "Oswald".
photography, piano playing, peanut butter + pages and pages of a story.
quiet mornings, and quirky sentences.
remembering the good times, and reminiscing in days gone by.
scribbling in my journal, singing loudly and sweet sisters.
time well spent. a reward in itself.
umbrellas on rainy days, the United States, + umpteenth-time movie watching.
violin playing, vacation trips + versatile favorite shirts.
woods, wind in my face, and family members. {"the Wood family" and "the Woods family"}
xyris flowers + finding out the origin of "X-mas".
yodeling, yogurt covered raisins, + the gift of youth.
zealous energy, and zeal for life.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, FRIENDS. I WISH YOU A DAY FILLED WITH FAMILY, FRIENDS, FUN, FELLOWSHIP AND FINE FOOD.
